Social security The Social Security program can be a very confusing and intimidating process for you, the claimant. All you know is that you are disabled and unable to work. We represent claimants in Social Security Disability (Title II) and SSI.

Mediation services We also consult with and represent business executives and managers on Voluntary and Involuntary Separation/Severance Agreements and provide Mediation Services for lawyers and their clients.

Our History

Siro Smith Dickson, P.C. started back in September 1981 as the Blumer & Nally law firm, established by experienced trial lawyers Thaine Blumer and Jude Nally.  The founding partners focused their practice exclusively on personal injury trial work, representing injured individuals and their families in cases involving motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, dangerous products, drugs and medical devices, and dangerous premises.

Rik Siro joined the firm in 1985, with trial experience in medical malpractice and personal injury cases from his work with the San Francisco law firm of Murphy, Pearson, Bradley & Feeney, and the Kansas City law firm of Gage & Tucker, now Lathrop & Gage.  The firm later became Blumer Nally & Siro.  Mr. Siro continued the firm's tradition of representing plaintiffs in personal injury actions, and developed the firm's practice in Plaintiffs' Employment Law, representing workers and managers in discrimination and wrongful termination cases against their employers. Mr. Siro also developed the firm's practice of consulting with management employees on severance agreements, and works as a Mediator in employment and personal injury disputes.

In August 1998, Heidi Moyer joined the firm, practicing in the areas of personal injury, employment law, and established the firm’s practice in the area of Social Security Disability.  Ms. Moyer left the firm in September 2007.

In January 2010, Eric W. Smith joined the firm, as a partner, practicing in the area of Employment Law.  Mr. Smith has litigated and tried cases in jurisdictions across the United States including sex, age, race, and disability discrimination matters, whistleblowing, harassment and retaliation claims, employee benefits and wage and hour class actions, and trade-secret, non-competition and executive contract disputes.  

Athena Dickson joined the firm as an associate in 2003.  She is now a partner with the firm and currently practices in the areas of Personal Injury, Employment Law and Social Security Disability.  Ms. Dickson currently directs and oversees the firm’s Workers’ Compensation and Social Security Disability practices.  She is licensed to practice law in the states of Missouri & Kansas.
