SiroLaw PC announces the addition of Eric Smith and Athena Dickson to the partnership and a firm name change to Siro Smith Dickson, P.C. Eric Smith, partner, focuses on employment litigation. Smith has litigated and tried cases in jurisdictions across the United States including sex, age, race, and disability discrimination matters, whistleblowing, harassment and retaliation claims, employee benefits and wage and hour class actions, and trade-secret, non-competition and executive contract disputes. Prior to joining the firm, Smith founded and managed his own employment specialty firm. He has been recognized as a Kansas/Missouri “Super Lawyer” in the area of employment litigation and one of Kansas City’s “Best of the Bar” in the labor and employment field. Smith is a graduate of Yale Law School. “Eric is one of the most creative, tenacious, and smart lawyers I've ever met. Athena Dickson joined SiroLaw as an associate in 2003 and currently practices in the areas of personal injury, employment discrimination, Family and Medical Leave Act claims and Social Security disability. In law school, at the University of Missouri – Kansas City, Athena participated in Appellate Advocacy, served on the Moot Court board and participated in Trial Advocacy. She also worked at Kansas Legal Services, in the domestic services area, helping those who are less fortunate receive legal assistance. “Athena has been very successful in growing our Social Security Disability and Workers' Compensation practice areas. She has also gained great trial experience and expertise litigating Personal Injury and Employment cases. Athena has great people skills and is extremely attentive to our clients' legal needs."
